ABSTRACT Members of the program of Alcoholics Anonymous were surveyed with the expectation that certain spiritual perspectives would be more adaptive than others in the alcoholism recovery process in terms of perceived quality of life in sobriety. A collaborative spiritual coping style was found to be superior to a deferring spiritual coping style or self-directing spiritual coping style in predicting better quality of life.
